what i miss

Today, during dinner, as I passsed by the taco bar, I realized that if someone asked me what were some of the things I missed the most about California, I’d have a really weird answer. Barring he obvious, boring answers like friends, family, home, the weather, and the weather, I honestly think I would answer avocados.

When I was little, I used to hate the fruit (yes, its a fruit), especially because my mom would make me eat them whole, without anything else. But over the last few years, I’ve really come to loveee avocados. They have a delicious, buttery texture that isn’t too strong but still has a very nice flavor.

I never realized that I would miss them so much until I came here. California produces 95% of the U.S.’s avocados, and the crappy ones they put here in our food are pretty gross. I miss having fresh avocado in my California rolls. I also miss having fresh guacamole with my chips and burritos (I miss Chipotle…). I also miss avocado burgers. Mmm…

Also, did you know that Jason Mraz has an avocado farm? What a cool guy.
